Each line is carried down (or will be) as far as we have information until part of the last generation falls in the 1900's, usually around 1910. Johann Georg Schambach  - Born 2/5/1716 in Heppenheim, he immigrated 9/9/1749 on the ship 'Saint Andrew'.  He originally settled in Lancaster Co., PA but later move a little further west to Dauphin and Cumberland Co., PA.  Most if not all of the family across the country now use the name Shambaugh. Adolph Schambach  - Born about 1692, he immigrated 8/17/1729 on the ship 'Mortonhouse'.  He was from Fussgonheim, Germany where he had been listed as a head of household in 1723.  His family originally settled in the Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery Co., PA area.  The family that remained in Montgomery Co., PA changed the name to Shambough.  Those that went to Snyder Co., PA changed the name to Shambach while most of the rest across the country now use the name Shambaugh.  (7 generations are listed)   INDEX

Johann Casper Schambach - Born 12/23/1761 in Schwelm, Westphalia, Prussia, his son Carl 'Charles' Heinrich Schambach immigrated in 1847 and settled in western Pennsylvania in the Allegheny, Indiana and Westmoreland County area. Part of the family moved to the Acadia Parish, LA area while another part moved to the Santa Clara, Co., CA area. Most use the name Shambaugh. (5 generations are listed)INDEX

Johannes Jacob Schambach  - Born 10/14/1798 in Nordheim, he immigrated 9/23/1837 on the ship 'Austerlite'.  He lived in the Jennings Co., IN area.  The family name is mostly listed as Shamback. Herman Schambach - Born 12/28/1815 in Prussia, he immigrated prior to 1850. He lived in the Montgomery Co., MO area. Johannes Philipp Schambach - Born 11/4/1800 in Nordheim, he immigrated 8/27/1840 on the ship 'Silvie de Grasse'.  He was a brother to the above Johannes Jacob.  He lived first in Hamilton Co., OH but his widow later lived near two of their daughters in Dubuque Co., IA.  One daughter however lived near Jacob's son John in Jefferson Co., IN.  Henry Schambach - Born about 1805 in Prussia, he immigrated prior to 1860. Jacob Schambach - Born 6/10/1826 in Nordheim, he immigrated 1/6/1847 on the ship 'Ellerslie'.  Son of the above Johannes Philipp, he lived in New Orleans, LA. His family kept the name Schambach.

Jakob Schambach - Born 7/15/1843 in Bensheim, his children immigrated in the 1880s and 1890s. They lived in the Kenton Co., KY and Hamilton Co., OH area. The family continued to use the Schambach name.

Frank Shambeck - Born about 1837 in Hesse Darmstadt, he immigrated prior to 1860. He lived in Jasper Co., IL but most of his family later moved to King Co., WA. The family uses the name Shamek. His connection to Jaeckel is not currently known but DNA shows they are related. His family used the Shambow name.
